About

Dr. Casey McGinnis is a compassionate clinical psychologist specializing in working with adolescents, particularly those who have experienced trauma. With a deep understanding of adolescent mental health, Dr. McGinnis combines her expertise in clinical psychology with expert training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) to provide comprehensive support to adolescents and their families. She helps adolescents navigate emotional challenges, develop coping skills, and heal from trauma through a trauma-informed approach that integrates DBT techniques. By creating a safe and validating space, Dr. McGinnis empowers adolescents to build resilience, regulate their emotions, and foster positive relationships, guiding them on a path toward personal growth. Dr. McGinnis is a certified Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapist with extensive training in DBT and CBT therapies. She completed her APA-accredited internship at Primary Children's Hospital in Utah, focusing on acute mental health services. Dr. McGinnis continued to focus on DBT and acute mental health services in her postdoctoral residency at Children's Hospital of Orange County in California. She worked in a variety of acute mental health services lines such as emergency departments, residential treatment centers, day treatment centers, partial hospitalization programs, and intensive outpatient programs. She is an advocate for suicide awareness and creating accessible care for communities and individuals that have been historically marginalized and underserved.
